Trademark policy
Last updated May 2026Phosra is a company, not the standard.
The Phosra wordmark and mark (◇) are trademarks of Phosra, Inc. Phosra is the reference implementer of OCSS — the open Open Child Safety Specification — not the standard itself, and not a standards body. This policy covers only Phosra’s own marks; OCSS conformance and any conformance mark belong to the standard, never to us.
Permitted use without prior approval
- Referring to “Phosra” or to OCSS in editorial, regulatory, or journalistic contexts
- Linking to phosra.com, /spec, /compliance, or any phosra.com sub-route
- Including the Phosra wordmark in adopter implementation screenshots as long as the implementation is in compliance
Prohibited uses
- Using the Phosra wordmark or mark to imply Phosra built, operates, or endorses a product that it does not
- Implying a Phosra partnership, endorsement, or operation of a product without a written agreement
- Modifying or recoloring the Phosra wordmark or mark (◇)
There is no “Phosra Conformant” badge
Conformance is earned from OCSS and its conformance suite — never issued, granted, or invoiced by Phosra. Whoever grades the test cannot also sell the tutoring, so Phosra makes nothing on the standard, the conformance mark, or governance. Any conformance mark belongs to OCSS; see openchildsafety.com. Phosra is itself building toward OCSS conformance and wears no mark it cannot resolve to a live registry entry.
